How to Manage Images in Listings
To update or add images for your business:
- Go to Your Location Page: Access the dashboard and navigate to your Listings.
- Find the "Listing Images" Section: Located on the right side of the page.
- Click "Edit": Here, you can upload, remove, or change the images associated with your business.
Each type of image serves a unique purpose, as outlined below:
Types of Images and Their Purposes
Logo:
- This logo will be used across various channels and directories.
- Ensure your logo is clear and professional, as it represents your brand identity.
Square Logo:
- This version of your logo is specifically formatted for Facebook and used internally within Listings.
Cover Photo:
- This is the first image that will appear on your Google Business Profile (GBP) listing (uploaded under the “owner section”).
- It also updates your Facebook timeline cover. Facebook provides specific dimensions for displaying cover photos:
- Desktop: 820 pixels wide by 312 pixels tall.
- Smartphones: 640 pixels wide by 360 pixels tall.
- It's best to use dimensions of 820 pixels by 360 pixels (16:9 ratio) and to keep all text and graphics centred to fit both desktop and mobile views.
Tips for Optimising Images for Online Listings
- High Resolution: Ensure all images are of high quality and resolution. Blurry or pixelated photos can negatively impact how customers perceive your business.
- Relevance: Use images that best represent your business and services. Highlight popular products, services, or unique aspects of your venue.
- Consistency: Maintain consistency in branding by using the same style, filters, or colours for your images.
